After a colder winter than in recent years (but more normal for the season), spring was hot but rainy with occasional cold spells. This recharged the soil’s water reserves which was good for vine growth. We are almost 10 days ahead compared to an average year.
The flowering is underway and we are expecting it to be a good year but we need to keep a close eye on the maturity in August before being able to talk about the quality of the vintage. Patience is a virtue…
