For more than 50 years, Vignobles & Compagnie is committed alongside its partner winegrowers. A boutique Winery and a Rhône ambassador towards QUALITY WINES and BOLD BRANDS. CRÉATION

  • 1963 : It is the federating spirit of the winegrowers, led by Paul Blisson, that has given birth to the Company which was originally destined to promote wines of the Gard area in the Rhone Valley. The cellar -an original building inspired by Oscar Niemeyer- was and is still located in a strategic place close to the Pont du Gard.
  • 1969 : The Merlaut family invests in the organization. At the head of the Company was a woman, miss Noble, a bold choice at that time.

DÉVELOPPEMENT

  • 1972 : Jean-Marie Berteau took over the reins and he would remain in charge for 34 years. The Winery moves into a new era thanks to the modernization of the site and major economic growth. Mr Berteau gained the trust of the Merlaut family who refused to see the company become an industrial platform.
  • 1990 : The Taillan Group took over all the activities. It is the beginning of partnershops with local winegrowers, including the five historic names : Françoise Rey, Villesèche Family, Pierre Vidal, Jean-François Fayel and Gerben Tonkens.

NÉGOCIANT-ENGAGÉ

  • Thomas Giubbi became the new Managing Director. He worked on the grapes supply aiming to constantly improve the quality of the wines. For this, he continues to forge partnerships of mutual trust with many vineyards in the southern Rhône Valley.
  • 2016 : The Winery if firmly committed to sustainable development. New investments occurred in 2016, with the creation of an effluent treatment pond for natural purification of water without adding chemical products and an eco-designed engraved bottle.
  • 2017 : VIGNOBLES & COMPAGNIE pursue is commitment in the vineyard and became a winegrower in the Costières de Nîmes area. The Company has handing the Château des Sources and the Domaine des Cantarelles to manage entirely the 50 hectares of the estates.
